Reducing the Clutter

So the packing is going along great. Thank heavens for
my Junebug. She has all the strength of Zeus and all
the good looks of Adonis.... :)

We sold everything that we wanted to get rid of.
We have consolidated and are definitely on our
way to becoming minimalists. I am so sick of
clutter and odds and ends everywhere. Making
the decision to sell off all our "treasures" was
a very rewarding event. We made some people
very happy in this horrible time of economic
strain.

Graduation is getting closer....my god I cannot
believe that she is graduating. It seems like
yesterday she was having trouble tying
her shoes. We are very proud of her. She
has accomplished alot in her 17 years of life.
Way to go Steph!!! Now we must prepare
for college life..... Oy Vay!

We got some alarming news this week. June
had her eye appt last week and was referred
to a eye specialist this week. They thought she
was having some leakage behind her retina but
come to find out she has had a "optic stroke"
.... yea....scary. I had never heard of this
and immediately started googling. The Doc
thinks this has happened within the past 4
months sometime. Its not affecting her vision
but he warned her this is a prelude to a
brain stroke. So we have been jolted into
reality that we need to take our health a
little bit more seriously.

Moving into our new place we have decided
to move no negative emotions or energy
there. I am going to do a sage cleansing
before we move any of our stuff in and then
will do it once again after moving in and
settling. My soul is gleaming with joy at
the fact that we have found ourselves back
to where we need to be. Sometimes it takes
losing something to make you see how much
you need and love it.

I had a very endearing conversation with my mom.
She and my stepdad are in the midst of a possible
foreclosure and she is devestated. I too have faced
this demon and hey...I survived. I think that people
have become so enthralled in the fact that they need
to "own" something that they lose theirselves.
I dont care whose name is on the paper...you never
truly own it. It can be snatched away from you in
a heartbeat. I told her its just material bullshit. When
you leave this earth...you cannot take it with you.
Everything we hold in our hands...that we consider
"property" we own...is only ours temporarily.
I would much rather live my life knowing I did
all the things I wanted to and really and truly
lived my life than know I owned a bunch of crap
that I have to keep paying taxes on to own.
I might be crazy but hey...thats just how I feel.

So enough of my ranting....Im off to work.

Just Fine

So we made up our minds. We decided not to leave
Columbia after all, but we are in the process of
moving as I type. Its exciting and scary all
in the same realm of emotions. We are
looking forward to the move though...
we need a change....a refreshing change.

Glad today I can look outside and finally
see some sunshine. Its been cold and rainy
here for the past three days. If I cannot be
home with my snugglebutt under the covers
watching a scary movie....then I need for it
to stay sunny while I work!!! :)

We have recently been discussing things
that we are looking forward to. We both
decided once Stacie gets out of high school
and into college good.....we are outta here!
Purchasing a motorhome and we will be
on our way!! Im tired of living this bullshit
dream of a car, a home and 2 1/2 kids. Who
are we trying to fool? People bust their asses
day in and day out...trying to make a dollar
and hold onto these worldy possessions and
for what???? Just to have your job jerked out
from underneath you and then you loose all
you have worked so hard to possess. To hell
with that I say!! Once our girls are stable in
their own lives.....its time for us. We want
to travel the US and just live. We have lived
the American dream.....had kids....owned homes
....owned cars.....wtf did it do for us? Not a
damn thing I tell you. Worry me into a early
shade of grey and cause J to bite off all her nails.
Its ridiculous to keep trying to have all these things
that you arent taking with you when you leave here
anyways. And what the hell do our kids care about
all this crap? They just have to pay the taxes and
bills we leave behind. People have forgotten how
to live I think. Things have become to modernized
and people are comfortable with the drama and
hate thats been created in this cold world.
No one knows what loyalty and respect mean
anymore.

I watched today as I went to get lunch....I watched
the people. No one smiles much. Maybe they
dont have anything to smile about....maybe they
are just cold and hard...or maybe they are having
a bad day. I smile at them....hoping for a glimmer
of response.....NOTHING...I get nothing. Oh well.
I long to be free of all this dread and dispare.
As long as I have my love and know my kids
are good..... whatever comes my way will be
handled accordingly. We have had our share of
heartache. Times are changing......yes indeed they
are changing for the better. Almost 10 years
together....thats quite an accomplishment for us.
Eventhough we have had our ups and downs....the
love never stopped. Things may have detoured us
from where we needed to be....but we always found
our way back.

So...life is getting to where we need it to be. We are
excited to be moving and getting out of a place where
bad memories reside. Sometimes all it takes is a
positive change to make us see....everything is
going to be just fine.

Spring is In The Air

We have been spending the last few weekends outdoors.
This past weekend we went to Johns Island and
visited the Angel Oak and then onto James Island
County Park to check out the camping sites.

We were totally amazed at the dog park inside the
park at James Island. They allow you to take them
off the leash and let them run and frollock around
and play in the lake area. It was too cute to see
them all running around chasing each other and
their humans keeping eye on them like their
little kids. Our dogs will love this area I am sure.

It was very nice to be out riding with the
windows down and letting the fresh warm
air blow in. We walked on the beach at Folly
and it was amazing to see people out sunning
in the suits and the kids in the water. That
water was still freezing but I can remember
being a child and the anticipation of getting
into the ocean..its like it never phases you.
We watched the guys on their surfboards
being pulled by parasails. The girls
hated to have to come home...to tell
the truth...so did we.

We looked at areas possibly to move to.
I like James Island and think if we are goin
to do it...thats where it should be. June likes
North Charleston and I like that area too.
We will just have to see......we are also
looking at possibilites out of state also.

I dont know what to think about our baby
graduating in just couple of months. I cant
believe my baby is all grown up. She is
pondering several things...she was set on
going to Newberry and their wonderful
forensics program...but something has
changed in her and she is considering
going into the service. I particularly dont
approve of this due to the fact that she
wont be able to live her life out loud
and she will be serving a country that
makes her keep herself hidden....
"dont ask ....dont tell". Hogwash!!

Whatever she chooses to do we will
support her 100% but I still dont like
it. With her being undecided about
which career path to take I dont want
her to be too hasty and choose the
wrong one...so she may need some time
off to consider all options. Wow...our
little girl is all grown.....amazing.

We are totally enjoying this wonderful
weather lately. Its time to get the camping
stuff out and make our way to the woods.
June took the stuff out of the attic yesterday
for us to start our yearly inspections and
figure out what me may need new for
this seasons outtings. We are excited!!

Well...thats all for today....will post again
soon....meanwhile...enjoy this weather
yourself!!
